George's Cafe 4th St. - Lubbock

George's is okay if you're simply looking for a home-cooked meal away from home. The menu is small which has its pros and cons... A pro being that more focus can be put on the individual dishes and a con being that there's not a lot of variety if you're in the company of people with very diverse tastes in cuisine. It's similar to a few other small cafes around town as far as the menu, atmosphere, and clientele. In my opinion George's is average, but an opinion, well, everyone has one based on experiences. So go ahead and give it a shot and see what you think of it. Bonus: the waitress was really great! Very friendly and had a great sense of humor...

I’ve eaten at this place a couple of times and I’ve never had anything good or bad to say about it. The atmosphere is nice kind of old-school. This time I didn’t have such a good experience in the fact that my food was fairly cold and the portion was not very large. I have to be at work soon so I did eat it quickly. When the somewhat nice server asked me how everything was I informed her of my food being cold she brought me a side of bacon that was OK and assured me that she was going to give me a discount because of my food being cold. I’ll look at the receipt while I’m paying and she has given me a veteran/student discount which I am neither of only 80.

The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and my coffee cup was never empty.

The food, service, and location of this restaurant are all excellent. The breakfast we had was fantastic. They effortlessly put together a custom order of biscuit and gravy omelet without hesitation. We will definitely be returning.

Good home cookin is what you will get here. Menu is not overly large and they serve breakfast all day!! Staff is friendly and attentive. Food was hot, fresh and cooked to order. Nothing fancy, but good food
