Bidrage med feedbackMost people may not think to go here for food. Let me tell you if you don?t wine and dine here you are missing out! I especially enjoyed the bar area. I ate the Roxie sandwich, chips and a side of ranch. Definitely no skimping on presentation here folks. Just look at this amazing photo. The entrees are flavorful and presented with passion. I highly recommend this place at any time of day. They are even fast enough if you only have an hour for lunch! Love this hidden gem in LBK.
I have been to Burklee a few times since they have opened and I must say, the last time I was there was by far the best experience I had. The manager (Emily) and staff were so polite and attentive. I tried the new Mary Salmon Pizza and It was amazing of course I had to pair it with the Creme Brûlée also. Loved everything thanks for the great service and food!
We went there for Valentine's dinner, thinking a wine pairing dinner sounded wonderful. It was not. The staff was aloof, snobby, and seemed to misunderstand the fundamental nature of the customer clientele relationship. More than this, there was not a single element of the evening, service or food, that even began to justify this inherent arrogance. The wine was given in single 3 ounce pours, 20 minutes prior to each course, ostensibly to get you to buy more wine (which, considering the price of admission, 12 oz of wine is an absolute disgrace). We noticed that each table around us was given a larger pour of wine for each course as well. The courses were underwhelming. The salad was mediocre. The risotto was nice, but not special. The filet was an absolute disaster (see photos). No knife was provided. It was unseasoned and overcooked to the point of being unrecognizable as a filet. Not to mention we were given the filet pre chopped into quarters, and each plate was given 3 quarters. So, we were given underseasoned, horribly overcooked, tough as nails filet and it was pre sliced, ensuring any remaining moisture would soon escape (any chef or restaurant knows how bad of an idea this is, filet is a very near no fat cut of beef and pre slicing dries the cut out rapidly). The sear on the filet was essentially just a bad burn. If I hadn't paid for a packaged dinner that was scheduled out by the venue, I'd have sent it back and left. The dessert was a prepackaged frozen cake with a nice filling, but the cake itself tasted of freezer and was extremely tough. Very, very, very disappointed in our experience. For the price we paid, we could have gone almost anywhere else in town, gotten more wine, better food, and a much better overall experience.
I was with a group so got to sample several shareables before our meal. The charcuterie board was excellent with fantastic portions and a nice variety. The cheesy artichoke dip was pure decadence and I had to pass it down the table before I was tempted to eat it all. Salads were healthy portions and the bruschetta and brie dishes were nice as well. I ordered the pappardelle, with some shrimp added, and it was good. The sundried tomatoes and kale gave it a good flavor. There was more oil in the dish than I like, but that's personal preference. Lots of energy in the room and people seemed to be having a good time. And I have to mention that the live music was fantastic. I wish I had gotten his name. We all commented on how good he was.
Excelent experience. Went for Brunch on a Sunday and were seated easily. My family all tried different things and with few exceptions enjoyed everything. The banana flambe french toast in particular was great, but very sweet so make sure you order something to go with it. Later that day we ordered pizza, the margarita wasn't particularly special, but the Bruno and Burklee were extremely good. Very unique. Overall excellent. Could use new chairs, they seemed pretty flimsy and hard.
