Never have been disappointed at this place where you might have your sundowner at this small lake, liked by locals . If you do not exspect five star food you should try, but local food.
When the sun shines , and you are on the terasse, with a good german restaurant meal, and local beer or wine , what else can you ask for ??
As we like to eat wild and the 16th high forests wild week last day we visited the maison au lac in losheim, which is part of other restaurants in the region in this activity. the maison au lac is actually a pure exit with direct view of the artificially landscaped lake (weiher); especially in summer the loading here. the service was very friendly, brought us to the reserved table, took the weights and cared for us well. when we accused our main court after a longer waiting period (long after we had arrived the guests at the side tables already dessert), was asked directly in the kitchen and the waitress came with the shopping, it was all in the work. my impression was that the kitchen had fed and enembled our bon after the start preparation, especially since the salad of the main dish came only after our complaining. Something like that shouldn't happen. next to the normal card there was a special wild card. wild boar, reh and deer were represented; my favorite wild bouncy as well as fasan, wildente and rebhuhn were unfortunately not. and what the gans had lost on the wild card, I cannot say that surely the wildgans, as I know as a young, very nicely costed wildgans not meant, but the quite normal representative of the gattung hausgans, which is especially consumed to refurbished martin. we have eaten as an appetizer rehconsommée with briocheknödel or maron suppe with white port wine and as a main dish with shitake mushrooms, kartoffel pumpkin rösti and feldsalat. the rehconsommée was already very tasty, with the annon-clad brioche emptying was not a brioche, but a modified semmmelkloss, it was beaten tastefully by the soup. perfectly prepared and lubricated, with impeccable consistency; better it does not work with the strongoch. the tranches of the backpack had slightly exceeded the point, were not quite as pink as I liked it inside, but still very tender. unfortunately we had the impression on the sauce level that the wild food or -jus in the kitchen was no longer enough (was the last day of the wild week) and was therefore really stretched. pity, but a sensible wild sauce tastes quite different than we served; also the shitake mushrooms didn't fit the dish. pfifferlings or stockwurms would have been the absolutely better and more harmonious choice here. the maronensalat, made with roasted speck and served lukewarm, was very good, the potato pumpkin rösti did not taste me. here I would like to have a wild matching cash or self-made late zle. Because the combination was not unanimous, I can only forgive four stars here. the expected very demanding cuisine is in maison au lac in the wrong place! As already mentioned, it is a pure departure place, where they can also eat and with a offer as they can expect on the water or elsewhere: kitchen without more ambitious for the operation of customers to market standard travel. Whoever this is enough is pretty good here.
Average dinner with a nice view of the lake. The place is used mainly by guests of the near camping. Staff is nice and frindly. The food however is ok, our french fries were barely eatable. The snitzel instead was good. Overall the prices are average but too high for the quality of the meals offered.
