Umami Burger - The Grove - Los Angeles

My party arrived at the restaurant for our reservation, only to find the place completely empty. The hostesses told us, "We're not seating people right now, but since the restaurant is empty, we can still accommodate you." It made us wonder what the point of making a reservation was in the first place. And the comment seemed a bit unnecessary if they were going to seat us anyway.

Their air conditioning was broken and the service waa was very slow.

Table was dirty. a hired not in uniform that were in uniform had dirty uniforms and not clean look. table was dirty and sticky.

The service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress took forever to take our order and bring our food and there were only a few tables throughout the restaurant. She never once checked on us to see if we needed anything. The only thing she came back for was to give us the check.

The food was just okay but in their defense I did get a lettuce wrap burger and perhaps it's because I didn't have the bun but I've been to other places that wrap it and let us and it's still good and I thought this place was very mediocre. It's a shame because she used to be my favorite hamburger place and I don't know what happened to it. The server can have been a nicer and you definitely made our evening there enjoyable. I review a solely based on the food and nothing else
