Great food! The salmon bowl, the carrot cake…so many good things!

What happened with Pitchoun? Used to be one the best French bakeries around LA. Now it's only location in the city. $46 for tiny skinny pecan pie? $4.20 for smallest chewy Cannele de Bordeaux? ‍ And at least wanted the taste of pastries to closely match the prices, but no quality is a thing of the past along with reasonable prices. Let's see how long you can stay in business

I asked the handsome French staff for an unsliced boule and was met with language referral to an assistant who presented mildly “you people” disdain. Further inquiry as to their future, whole loaf replenishment (as pictured on their Yelp and native website) lead to tempered resentment of my intrusive line of questioning. Perhaps the cashier missed their Sephora/Ulta Beauty calling. One cannot slip merely any toasty crunchy bread under their homemade vegan tofu scramble.

The bakery items were good. We got the Nutella croissant, the egg and bacon focaccia, and the Chouquettes. The croissant was delicious and was devoured without much thought. The focaccia was tasty and actually pretty filling, it lacked any flavor to make it stand out. The Chouquettes were simple and light and a small twist on doughnut holes.
