Michelina - Los Angeles

This is a neighborhood gem that is easily one of the top bakery/patisserie in Los Angeles. The open bar seating serves wonderful quiches, baguette and pastries. Whenever I am at the Grove, I stop by and treat myself to a taste of Paris! They also offer American flavor dessert like Red Velvet in a French pastry. It’s definitely worth checking out if you like French bakeries.

The best baguette in town! From now on, this is the only place I’ll buy my baguettes. Michelina has become my excuse to visit the farmers market more frequently. However, I do have some comments about the service. When I arrived, there was an elderly lady who took at least five minutes to decide which bread she wanted to buy. There were four loaves of the same type, and she had the young lady working there—a tall brunette—pick each one up and set them back down repeatedly as she pondered her choice. It would have been easy for anyone to lose their patience in that situation, but the salesgirl remained calm and handled everything professionally.

I've been coming here for years, but I never took the time to write a review. This bakery is not only one of the best in Los Angeles but among the best anywhere. I felt compelled to share my thoughts after witnessing an interaction with a particularly difficult customer. The staff and possibly the owner were incredibly accommodating and tried their best to assist her, yet she left in a huff, being quite unpleasant. I was really impressed by how they handled the situation. The business is fantastic, and their products are outstanding! After spending the past year in London, Paris, and throughout Europe, I don't miss those bakeries at all because we have Michelina!

What an amazing place at the original LA Farmers Market! The coffee is exceptional, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the menu features some fantastic food choices! Be sure to try Michelina!
