Bidrage med feedbackThis place is awesome, great setting at the back end of the historic Olvera street. 1 gripe is that they serve the guacamole on a bare cutting board. REALLY COOL presentation, I just wish they would put down a barrier between the delicious guacamole and the bare cutting board that is cracked and ruddy as most cutting boards are (I've little doubt it was washed before use as a presentation platter but still). Do that and they get a perfect 5 stars. Like I said, the presentation is really really cool but I only ate from the top of the guacamole mound, being careful to not eat any of the guacamole that was in contact with the bare cutting board. Also: the service was really good. The guy who was the only server at the place was very very busy but gave my table just enough attention to know he gave a s*it but not so much that he was annoying.
Got me a trio of beer battered shrimp tacos with a pair of asada tacos! Asada was bomb but the trio of shrimp really socked the buds man! ?????Food: 5/5
My family and I ate here before, and the food and service were great, but this time, the service was terrible. The hostess at the front of the restaurant was rude, inattentive, and quite frankly lazy. She told us it was a 20-minute wait for a table. We waited more than 20 minutes, so I went inside to see if it really was that crowded, to which the hostess made an attempt to get my attention to distract me from going inside. The tables were all dirty, and no one was cleaning them. It was then the hostess asked someone to clean a table for us. When we were finally sitting after about 45 minutes at this point, there was still an empty beer bottle and an empty water bottle at the table. When I grabbed them and gave them to the hostess, she acted with such an attitude about getting them. My family and I then waited longer, thinking we were going to order soon, we didn't no waiter or waitress came to the table at all. So we decided to cut our losses and just leave. A whole hour wait just to sit at a dirty table. I can understand that they might have been understaffed, but there was no reason to have that hostess out there on her phone instead of helping out clean tables inside.
The food was great and the size of the portions were very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.Food: 5/5
Loved this place. We went for a beer, cold and delicious and a quick appetizer which was a quesadilla and it was amazing. Hand made tortillas and queso Oaxaca. Service was great always attentive and with a smile on their face. Definitely going back to try the menudo. The place makes you feel as if you're in Mexico. Same type of ambiance and they let musicians come in and play your request. Good for a family gathering.
