Bidrage med feedbackI don't even like Indian food, but this has become my favorite unknown spot in LA. Excellent food, a very long and varied menu, beyond amazing customer service, and really great deals if you can find a coupon (check your Valpak). I can't recommend this place enough, it's become our regular go-to for a very nice meal in a romantic setting.
Service at this restaurant was spotty. We had a repeat of several servers come to the table for the same request. We had at least 2 come to take our order. Since it was not busy, this really seemed odd. Food was ok but not great.
Cardamom’s garlic naan is the best I’ve ever tasted. We enjoyed the chicken tikka and lamb curry very much. The appetizer scallops had a delicious sauce. We are not fans of the Indian desserts on most restaurant menus so we’re delighted to see a tirimisu on the menu. For us, it was a perfect finish to the dinner. We liked the by the glass wine choices as well. Great service!
I had been curious about Cardamom for a while and, finally, with very few other desirable choices nearby due to the late hour, I decided to check it out. Glad I did! As soon as I entered, the aroma from the kitchen had me convinced I 'd made the right call. The host and wait staff couldn 't have been more gracious and friendly. Although it was late and I was the last (and eventually the only customer, they insisted that I relax, take my time, and enjoy which I did... very much. The flavors and presentation are a bit different from the typical Indian restaurant. I do love the more traditional, but their little twist (extra cardamom, maybe? hence the name? definitely works for me and makes them stand out. Specifically, I found the Samosas, which they list as Singara , more on the refined side the filling not as mealy, and the pastry more like that of spring rolls. The Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani was sliced instead of cubed, and had that mystery (to me additional spicing in the sauce that was DELICIOUS. A very generously poured glass of Prisoner Merlot paired perfectly. Overall, my meal was not BETTER than the other fabulous Indian restaurants in LA, just different... in a way that I quite enjoyed.
This was a wonderful find. Will definitely go back. Food and service was great!
