Bidrage med feedbackI have never been disappointed at this hidden gem in Santa Monica. If you find yourself in the area, definitely stop by! I could happily enjoy the Today's Special every day. The chefs and servers are always friendly and eager to offer great recommendations. It consistently delivers an amazing experience! Be sure to try the Turo Salmon Belly and any of the Nigiri options. The small and cozy atmosphere is perfect for business meetings and introducing people to the best sushi in the city.
This is my absolute favorite spot for aburi (seared) sushi. It's incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. I appreciate the variety they offer, including salmon, salmon belly, albacore, ono, and Hokkaido scallop. Many places either don’t serve aburi sushi or offer only one type, and the quality often varies. If this restaurant were closer to my home, I’d be here every day! The downside is that parking can be a challenge; there are only street meters and some additional meters in the back, which are often full.
I had takeout from California Roll Factory in the past, but I didn't remember it being this disappointing. As I browsed the menu, I noticed that even the specialty rolls seemed quite basic. Tonight, I tried the Some Like It Hot Roll, which had the right amount of flavor and spiciness, but it lacked texture and fell apart easily. I also sampled the Piak's Jalapeño, which appeared to be an interesting concept and had some decent texture, but the taste was off... I really didn’t enjoy it. The service was fine, but my dining experience left a lot to be desired. The space felt very cramped, and it was cold and drafty inside the restaurant. I even considered leaving as soon as I sat down, so dress warmly if you go. I would highly recommend walking just 50 feet to BAD Sushi or En Sushi instead and save your money—this place isn't cheap (it cost nearly $30 for two specialty rolls). BAD Sushi has similar prices. I probably won’t return unless someone can convince me they've improved their rolls.
Affordable sushi spot with lots of menu options! We ordered 4 different rolls, and my favorite in this order were: Love Roll Hole in One Roll Harvey Roll Lupe Roll not pictured, but was just verryyy heavy Went on a Monday night and seating was easy to get; they also have bar seating. Service was QUICK. Street parking was a little tough to find, just be prepared to walk or circle around for a bit.
One of the places me and my parents think of when we're craving sushi. We've been eating here for years and their quality has always been consistent. I recommend getting their salmon donut and their Jeff Emily rolls because they never disappoint. The service is fast but I do recommend calling and placing an order since there may be a long wait. The inside seating of the restaurant is also a bit small and cozy.
