A Good Morning - Los Altos

I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about at this restaurant. I visited for lunch today for the first time, and I ordered a grilled cheese with extra pepper jack cheese. Instead of adding the extra cheese, they replaced all the cheddar and didn't even melt the pepper jack. I'm not really sure what I ended up with, but it definitely wasn't grilled cheese. On a positive note, the garden salad was fresh and tasty, but they didn't have any olive oil available.

We sat outside, right at the entrance to other shops. The menu offered typical American fare, but there were too many honeydew and sugar melons for my liking, and not enough berries with the yogurt. The coffee was the same as what you'd find anywhere else—passable but not great—though I appreciated that they offered a plant-based milk option.

We discovered this charming local eatery during our travels and it proved to be a great choice for a quick breakfast. Despite our party of eight, we were seated promptly, and the food was tasty. Although the staff didn't check on us after our meals arrived, it seemed to be due to a staffing shortage. My husband's medium-rare burger was overcooked, but everything else was satisfactory. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant had a lovely ambiance that added to the overall experience.

I love this place 15 years ago and I still do. Nice food, relaxed athmosphere… a good morning!

It is a pleasant place but the food is so-so, in my experience. Tepid taste without any zest. A big plus is that they are open early and the service is good.
