Swing Bridge Cafe - LORNE

We stopped here expecting it to be a bit "touristy", but we were so wrong. lovely service, great food, excellent coffee and the best setting.

We stopped here for brekky on our drive to Melbourne. This is without doubt the friendliest, most interesting cafe with delicious food. Besides the normal bacon and eggs there's some amazing brekky dishes. As my wife was a little cold the owner very thoughtfully turned on a heater and offered a blanket. The coffee was superb and the view of the beach and swing bridge terrific. Outstanding.

The cafe is located right by the river. Lovely decoration. We had breakfast there. It was delicious and fresh. With the scenery of lorne, one side is the river and the other side is the sea. It is very suitable for a leisurely breakfast and coffee. I will definitely go back if I have a chance.

This restaurant is simply FANTASTIC - the location is beautiful, nestled between the river and the sea, with plenty of surrounding greenery and the food is superior to the view - just a wonderful place to dine. We visited for breakfast (party of four, including a gluten-intolerant diner) and could not fault any of the choices we tried on the menu; the service was also faultless. The atmosphere was typical country-style cafe, with a friendly smile and a willingness to provide whatever help was needed. Don't miss the opportunity to try this cafe, if ever you are in Lorne. You WON'T be disappointed.
