As of August here in Baja California Sur State started a law...that prohibits plastic bags in supermarkets, so we had to carry our groceries in our hands and inside my mom's bag. Then, we felt hungry and decided to go to this restaurant, since it's near the previously mentioned supermarket. We were very hungry and entered in a hurry to this restaurant, and proceeded to occupy a table. Just when we were sitting, a waiter came running to our table and pointed that no drinks were allowed. My mom told him that, in that case, we'd have to look for another place for dinner (joking), and immediately after that, my mom explained that we didn't know and we didn't see the sign located at the entrance (also, it was at night and the entrance was dark), and the waiter's response was ok, leave then in a very rude way, and not even offering us to buy their drinks. Of course, we left the place immediately and looked for another restaurant around. When looking for, we didn't notice that just in front of our hotel there was another taquería In here, the person in charge kindly received us and let us in, no matter if we brought our own drinks. Just to mention, my parents are both diabetic and cannot drink any pop soda, but no-sugar-added Coke, and not all restaurants have this kind of Coke for them. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this restaurant that attends tourism this way. It seems they've forgotten who maintains the town's and State's economy (tourism). Their stupid drinks policy made them lose the six people consumption, plus tip.
I love the grilled food here. It's cheap too. I recommend the volcanoes. Also, the staff are amazing. I just wish they would change their red wine. Other than that, A+
Super Burro is a simple restaurant with a few walls. It has what some people consider the most authentic Mexican food in Mexico. It is run by three generations of Mexican women cooking over an open fire, and the food is unbelievable. Their most famous...dish is papa (potato) relleno. Several varieties are made in a foil pouch stuffed with potatoes, cream, corn, Mexican cheese, nopoles (cactus), mushrooms and, for non-vegetarians, chicken or their their incredible marinated grilled flank steak (arrachera). Foil pouches are put on the grill to simmer until charred, and then opened and served with a platter of a half dozen interesting condiments like pickled onions and jalapenos, cucumber cream, etc. We will return to work our way through the menu!
Arachera burrito and tacos were really good, but a must try are the choriqueso tacos. Very friendly staff and servers. Must visit again!
A very good authentic Mexican restaurant where we were the only Americans. Open for dinner only but stopped by the next day and watched a couple ladies making fresh tortillas for the nights dinner. Nothing fancy, just good food.
