Bidrage med feedbackGreat service from our waiter, but unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations! World famous peppered steak was not so famous . Soggy .. Mahi Mahi pistachio meal was dry .. cute place but need new recipes or chef .. our visit was July 2019
We had dinner for 2 at Euphemism Haye. We started with the mushroom soup (tonight's special my spouse called it heavenly), the pate (fabulous) and the shrimp appetizer (pretty good). We had the pistachio snapper (absolutely super) and the duck (very yummy). Added the delicious cauliflower mash to the meal. We then moved upstairs for dessert and had the berries with whipped cream and the pistachio cheesecake very very good. Not inexpensive at all but prices were appropriate. Staff was knowledgable and friendly. Unsure how some posted pictures show the water from the restaurant.
Euphemia Haye is worth the travel and wait. We were vacationing in Lido Key and wanted a nice restaurant to have dinner and made reservations here. After being 30 minutes late due to a thunderstorm for our reservation, there was no problem seating us immediately and the night continued as if nothing had happened. I had the cannelloni and my wife had the carbonara. It was hands down some of the best cannelloni I've ever had. The ambience was great. The separate dessert room upstairs where you are explained all the desserts in detail and then indulge separately from where you eat your dinner is a unique touch to the establishment and made the desert experience special. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience. It was also reasonably priced. The only thing I thought was odd, was the banana bread that was brought out as a pre appetizer offer. Also, some of the decor could use some updating, particularly posters in the dining area in the back or the odd globe set that one would expect to see hanging in an adolescent boys room, not a fancy restaurant. Minor observations on an otherwise excellent night with great staff and food.
Having enjoyed another phenomenal meal at Shore, Longboat, we thought stopping by here for dessert would be a treat. We called ahead since it is a small place and they graciously allowed us to stop by. What a time warp circa 1970?? or so.... It struck me as the type of place my grandparents would have thoroughly enjoyed back in the day. Sorry for the low rating but in reality, I go to restaurants to eat and service is a secondary benefit. We were quickly offered a view of the various dessert options on display upstairs. Service was prompt, desserts are $10 minimum and cocktails were $10 to 14 each. We were seated upstairs around the corner from the upstairs bar where I am guessing locals were have a great time. Not many options at this part of the key. Hubby chose the apple pie ala mode and I went with the server's recommendation for the chocolate strawberry layer cake. Although the portions were generous, both were rather tasteless. Quick taste, sip and go. Despite the fun retro atmosphere that included lights in the hanging planters, we will not return. Menu prices quite high and odd dated food options..at least in my opinion.
Delicious! We didn't have reservations but the upstairs bar area was like stepping back in time. Everyone was very friendly and happy... like everyone, it's a vacation area so that might have something to do with it. We just had appetizers and drinks but left full and happy! The fried green tomatoes had a very subtle sweet and sour sauce that was delightful! Bar tender nailed my aperol spritz!
