The Boathouse On The Bay - Long Beach

A great restaurant with a great view and really good food. Our waiter was a little forgetful having to be reminded about our wine order and my Sambucca that I wanted with my espresso. He was a really great guy, very sociable and trying to do a good job but seemed a little scattered. The best of the evening after enjoying a great meal with I got my double espresso served in a large coffee mug. I guess there is a first for everything. I couldn't believe that. They serve espresso don't they have espresso cups

Went for my husband’s birthday normally the food is very good and was this time as well but we went at and they had run out of bread, an hour later we still had not been served so our waiter who was very gracious and doing his best w the circumstances, offered us clam chowder in lieu of bread, which subsequently ruined our dinner. After waiting and then devouring the rich soup, we had no appetite by the time our food arrived. It was delicious, but ruined the experience. I had also noted it was my husband’s bday when I made the open table reservation and the hostess mentioned it but we don’t think our waiter had any knowledge of that and we bailed on dessert to get home as it was at this point

The dinner was great! The seafood was prepared very well and not over cooked. The view was great, conversation was excellent. The service was slow and inattentive. Asked for the check, I placed cash in the folder with some sticking out, my date put her sweater on and minutes later, I had to flag the waitress down to get the check to her. I was not going to leave an tip for two

Great place in every way. We wanted quiet and they let us move into an empty room. Large portions! Wonderful singer named kelly fitzgerald was playing on the patio. We'll be back
