Bidrage med feedbackWhile at 2nd PCH we got hungry and decided to try out Otosan. From the outside looking in the restaurant looked well decorated and I assumed would be top notch because of its location in a beautiful new shopping center. I enjoyed the albacoresashimi which was the first item brought out. The second and third items were problematic. The king salmon sashimi tasted abit old and slimy . . . which was worrisome. The roll which contained blue crab meat has pieces of the shell in almost everybite, which definitely detracted from being able to enjoy the food. Before we left I used the restroom, which obviously hadn?tbeen cleaned in several days. It was disgusting and caused me to look at the kitchen closely upon exiting the restroom. Icould see that the kitchen floors were also filthy and obviously hadn?t been cleaned in days. Raw seafood and an uncleankitchen is an absolutely terrible combination. I?m not going to return to this restaurant as I don?t feel safe eating the food.
I?ve been coming here for a little bit now maybe 4 times total the last year or so. I went there with my family on Good Friday after a long week and arrived at 8p-8:05p only to be told sorry we are closed it?s our last table when the restaurant closes at8:30pm?? Restaurant closes at 8:30 not 8p why turn people away on a Friday?? Seems ridiculous for a sushi restaurant that neverhas a wait or look to be that busy at all to turn away a family of 4. I?ve spent probably $250 every time I?ve gone. I hopewhoever owns the place actually thinks about staying open a reasonable time for dinner on a Friday and not close bc staff wantto leave RIGHT at 8:30. Give me a break sheesssh
Visited again, we were the only people there on a Tuesday around noon for some reason, the food was pretty good and great service.
Good sushi for this area, lots of special and classic rolls. Also hot dinner entrees and drinks. Light atmosphere with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. For not being very upscale, it's more expensive than some
I really wanted to like this place. I wouldn't normally leave one star, but having an expensive dinner on top of slow service and leaving hungry was too much for me. It took a really long time to get anyone to first come to our table, but the restaurant wasn't even busy. There were only three other tables seated in the whole place. We ordered cocktails and they were overpriced and tasted like fruit juice without any complexity or interest. My friend asked the server if the rolls were big and she said they were. She ordered a California roll with rice paper instead of seaweed and after waiting too long, they didn't bring the correct one. Once the right one came, we noticed how tiny it was for $18. I got the sashimi combination and the pieces were smaller than I'd expected and were more expensive than other places that gave more generous pieces. We waited so long for the check that we had to ask a different server for it. I ended the meal still hungry and the check was too big for that to be the situation. I left feeling confused what I had just paid for. It wasn't the service or the quality of food--nor was it the portions.I'll never go back there. In fact, every time I walk by the place, I get mad remembering the experience. Just ask my boyfriend.
