Doogers Seafood Grill - Long Beach

Second time here. As good as the first. Salmon And Chips. Split the meal with my wife. Our waitress brought us two different plates. Wonderful service and food. Never a disappointment.

My family and I went to this restaurant because their website indicates they cater to those who do not eat gluten. Upon arriving I was told the only gluten free items they had were clam chowder, even though the menu on their website seems to proudly cater to those avoiding gluten free selections. Steer clear if you're looking for a Long Beach restaurant that offers gluten free options. This restaurant does not.

This is the best seafood I've had in ages. I typically avoid seafood when I’m far from the coast, but this place changed my perspective. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in the area. There’s also a charming fudge shop inside, offering a great selection. The staff were outstanding and treated all the guests wonderfully. I’m even planning another trip to Washington just to dine here again.

Doogers boasts a diverse menu featuring sandwiches, pasta dishes, burgers, and of course, an array of seafood entrees—which is what drew us in. We began our meal with their outstanding clam chowder, which was full of real chunks of clam (not just the clam-flavored broth that some places try to pass off as chowder) paired with a rich broth and potatoes. It was absolutely delicious! Since my wife wasn’t overly hungry, she opted for the loaded baked potato, which she enjoyed. I ordered the fish and chips, choosing cod, although salmon and halibut were also available. It came with tasty fries, Texas toast, and a salad. The fish was flaky and tender, coated in a delectable, light batter. Our little one had a hamburger patty along with some of our clam meat, and he loved it too! To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a great-tasting Red Scottish Ale on tap. If you're seeking a family-friendly restaurant (or even if you don’t have kids), make sure to visit Doogers! You’ll experience excellent service, wonderful food, and a relaxed atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed!

Dooger’s Seafood Grill Long Beach has a new owner and a new name as of August 1, 2019; it is now called Drop Anchor. In my view, they serve some of the best pan-fried oysters on the Peninsula.
