Blackbird Cafe - Long Beach

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. We jumped at the opportunity because my mother was from Germany. This is a German restaurant specializing in Schnitzel. The restaurant is owned by a German Couple. The husband is like a conductor of a symphony orchestra. The food was like my late mother used to make. The Schnitzel was delicious and the side dishes were my favourite red cabbage and pan fried potatoes. I also ordered a tomato salad that was so good we took it home. I could go on and on but let me wrap it up by saying it is a superb restaurant. A reservation is definitely required as the restaurant is usually fully booked.

We came here for late breakfast because of its dog friendly front patio, wow delicious !!! It was more like lunch time but we opted for the breakfast options. Everything on the menu sounded so good and the daily specials too ! We started with drinks, great organic chocolate stout, spicy **** Mary’s and great cold chai teas !! Then our breakfasts arrived , first off the portions are huge , everything thing was so good too!!! They also brought a bowl of water for our dog! Can’t wait to return !

Great food, good service, limited seating, short hours. Don't go after about 2 pm, but all the rest of the time this is a real find. Delicious burgers, good selection, wide variety. Outdoor seating on busy intersection of Wardlow and Orange. Wines are a bit overpriced for a place like this, but you don't have to order wine, try their beers.

We have heard about the Blackbird Cafe and have seen the long lines to get in. We decided to try it during the week for a late breakfast to avoid the lines. It worked and even at 10:30AM it was crowded. I normally do not eat large portions but my John Wayne breakfast plate was so good I ate all of it! Looking forward to returning.

Had a wonderful lunch with my cousin! We both ordered breakfast dishes and they were nicely presented and delicious! My cousin eats here regularly, because it is a 20 minute walk from her work. It was my first time, and I WILL be returning! Very welcoming and friendly staff. Thank you. (We met at noon, on a Tuesday, and did not have to wait for a table.
