My assumption was that the flavors and calories for a Scottish restaurant would be extra heavy, but the portions were just right and my trout was delicately cooked and delicious. Even my wife’s beef Wellington was not overly heavy but perfected balanced, with the pastry, mushrooms, and wine sauce working as wonderful enhancements to the beef. Overall, this is fine dining at its best.

Due to some upcoming medical issues, my wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th anniversary a little early and this was our mutual choice. As always, food was fabulous and service was good. While I doubt I will live long enough to see a return to pre-Covid service, this was fine. We can’t afford to eat there often, but will be back at some point, hopefully, for anther celebration. I think it’s the best restaurant in the West Suburbs.
