Bidrage med feedbackGood food, service and ocean views makes Kokay's a worthwhile visit on Malapascua. A great spot also for an evening sunset and beverage!
This appears to be the most popular resto bar in the area. Located right on beach this place is ideal for sundowners. The food was also the best we ate during our visit. The only down side were the dogs scrounging around the tables but this happened at every restaurant we visited.
You can sit outside the restaurant and enjoy the sunset with a great range of excelent food.Starting with nice soup ( tomatosoup etc) a lot of different piccas, fine spagetti and some specialyties. They offer a good temporated beer ,fine wines but dont forget to protect you from moscitos.
The staff were helpful, friendly in general, food tasted okay, and a pool table for leisure. It was a nice chill out place to catch the sunset and for a drink or two. It also seems to be the hip place to be on this side of the island. Breakfast had little variety but dinner was a treat. The down side was the waiting time. It wasn't even slow... it took forever for simple stuff like egg or juice. The tip is, if you stay nearby, you might want to place an order, go grab a shower and come back (and still wait ...but a little less hehee).
As with most of the food places on the Island, a huge selection of meals on the meny - but they actually succeed and produce really good results! Not Michelin.standard of course, so my "4" rating should be seen as relative the location ;)Howvere, extra plus for the service, with girls (probably all-female staff except in the kitchen) that actually managed to serve first courses first, main courses to all of us at the same time, and even open wine bottles as they should be opened right there next to our table. Not common on this Island ;)Plus the wines are in fact very nice! Better selection than most other places on Malapascua.
