Ihop - Locust Grove

Front doors were propped open the whole time we were there, so there was flies coming inside. There was plenty of employees but we still had to wait a really long time for any service. Food was good but not very hot at all. Waitress had way too many tattoos and piercings to be in a customer service environment. Floors were all very sticky, not only is that gross but also a tripping hazard for some people. Menus were sticky, wet and yucky. We will NOT be back!!

Our waiter Lewis was awesome! He was attentive and just had a great positive vibe about him. The food was great too! We have had a few not-so-great experiences at this location, but today seems like they really turned the place around.

During a recent road trip, we decided to grab a meal at IHOP, marking my first visit to this location. The food was prepared exactly as we ordered, but what truly made our experience exceptional was our waitress. She was incredibly friendly and genuinely engaged with us throughout our meal. This woman really knows her job and deserved every bit of her tip. The only downside was that this IHOP wasn't open 24 hours, which I found surprising. Since we arrived a bit late, we felt rushed to finish so the staff could close up on time. While I understand this isn’t their fault, it was my only minor disappointment. Overall, I would definitely stop here again.

One major problem was the wait time. We arrived at 11:30 and were seated right away, but it wasn’t until after 12:30 that we finally received our food. When it arrived, my fruit was warm—which was a real letdown since I had been so excited about it. The sausage was close to being sticky, and the pancakes fell apart, which was unusual. For $20 per person, it just wasn’t worth it. To top it all off, I had a very unpleasant experience in the restroom (the stalls are quite small, by the way). I walked in on an employee washing their hands. They dried their hands, then entered the handicap stall, touching the door without washing their hands again before leaving. I found that quite off-putting.

It was a calm Thursday evening when I visited the restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was quite enjoyable. I’m particularly fond of protein pancakes, and I found them to be delicious even without syrup. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I just wish I could recall my server's name—she was wonderful, handling my teenagers’ antics with grace, despite their typical teenage humor.
