Bidrage med feedbackCoffee lovers rejoice! This place is what you've been dreaming of. Fresh coffee beans roasted in house takes all fo their coffee espresso beverages to the next level. Great selection of teas, tea-lattes, lots of fun seasonal options often made with house-made syrups. Baristas are super friendly, pasteries are HUGE and delicious. Atmosphere is perfect with their beautiful views of the historic locks and their whimsical steam-punk decor. Just go!
I was in town visiting and stumbled upon this fantastic little café. As coffee enthusiasts, we were thrilled with their offerings. I tried the all-day drip coffee, and it was outstanding—I only wished I had bought some to take home! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her salted caramel mocha, remarking that it wasn’t overly sweet and she really appreciated the salted caramel flavor. The service was friendly, and we found parking to be a breeze. They also have outdoor seating with a lovely view. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area!
Max and I were about 30 miles into our 50-mile bike ride from Hertel Avenue in the city to Lockport, and we could feel the burn in our legs as we approached the final stretch. Our goal for the day was to grab a much-needed coffee break at Steamworks Coffee, a spot we’d heard was a popular haven for the local bike community. As we rolled into Lockport, the sight of the historic Erie Canal greeted us, but all we could think about was that first sip of coffee. Steamworks, nestled on Canal Street, was exactly what we needed. The café was buzzing with energy, filled with a mix of cyclists like us and locals who seemed to know they were onto something special. We leaned our bikes against the side of the building, joining a small cluster of other bikes, and headed inside. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans hit us as soon as we stepped through the door. The place had a welcoming vibe, with cozy corners and a barista who greeted us with a warm smile. Max ordered a Nitro Cold Brew, while I opted for the Lavender Vanilla Latte—something about the blend of flavors sounded perfect after miles of pedaling. We took our drinks outside, sitting on a bench that offered a view of the canal. As we sipped, the exhaustion of the ride started to melt away, replaced by the simple pleasure of a well-made coffee and the satisfaction of knowing we were almost to our destination. Steamworks had lived up to the hype, not just as a coffee shop, but as a communal stop for those of us on two wheels, making it a perfect mid-ride retreat.
Steamworks has always been my favorite coffee shop in the area. All of the drinks are absolutely amazing. However, I visited this past Monday, and the new baristas were insanely rude. Normally, I am greeted by the nicest baristas, but yesterday there were a lot of new ones working. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes while the barista was standing right in front of me writing down orders on cups and talking to her co workers, and did not acknowledge me as a customer. After 5 minutes she finally said hello and asked for my order. Then I waited 13 minutes while the 3 baristas were on their phones talking about a wedding they were going to while I waited for them to make an iced green tea. Normally the service here is beyond exceptional with some of the nicest baristas in the area, but I am very disappointed in the service that I received yesterday.
Has a fabulous loose leaf tea latte with a house vanilla bean syrup!! Very wonderful spot!
