Ate here Monday night- only restaurant open in Loches- fantastic service. Great steaks and desserts and staff are very friendly. Couldn't fault this place as very busy and no one left waiting. Recommend for visit when in Loches.
For most of our holiday this restaurant was closed otherwise we'd probably have come more than once. We had a lovely dinner - nothing overly fancy but hearty, good quality and good value for money. Service was not rushed, overall a very nice leisurely meal with some excellent wine.
My wife and I were originally attracted to this restaurant by its obvious popularity, evidenced by the number of people inside. We managed to get one of the two remaining free tables. We chose the "menu du jour" and were not disappointed when our plates arrived with our chosen starter of assorted charcuterie. Excellent, I thought, as we waited for the main course. However, we waited, and waited, and waited. Eventually, I approached the bar and made my presence (and concerns) somewhat obvious. We had plainly been forgotten! This much was confirmed when our main meals arrived - one a full 5 minutes before the other! Although my entrecôte wasn't so bad, my wife's roast veal was stone cold and the vegetables were overcooked beyond recognition. I ordered another two glasses of wine to drown our sorrows at this point; yet when my red wine appeared, the waitress turned quickly on her heal and returned to other customers. I tried to attract her attention to procure my wife's white wine, but this proved quite impossible. By this point I was annoyed and stormed to the bar yet again - this time to shout loudly and clearly above the considerable hubbub that we were short of one glass of white wine. When it came, my wife had given up with her cold meat and we quickly finished off the desert course and left, needless to say living no tip!
Popped in here by accident on a Monday as most of the town take a long weekend and we had planned to eat somewhere else but they were shut. Sat out on the street and chose the plat du jour which was pork fillet in a peppercorn sauce with white asparagus. The flavours were fantastic and very subtle. Our granddaughter had fish and chips and with drinks the bill was just over €20. Very relaxed atmosphere watching the world go by.
