Cafetería La Vida is a newly opened spot in Llagostera. It is a refreshing change from the typical bar with sandwiches, coffee and drinks in town. The owner Elena had the great idea to open a place offering alternatives in addition to the well loved local meat and cheese sandwiches offered everywhere else. I have had a lovely smoked tofu sandwich on crispy coca bread, vegetable frankfurts,and other sandwiches with camelized onions. Really, really good. There are also cakes that she makes that are delicious. So far I have tried fig and pumpkin. The decoration makes for a cozy place with even a small separate area for small children to play. I am an ex-pat living in the area so I really appreciate this little spot where you can get a good sandwich and sometimes there is even soup on the menu! Thanks Elena!
