Black Horse Pub - Liverpool

I went to this restaurant with four friends after checking out of our Airbnb, looking for a quick meal. We arrived at 11:50am and were told by a staff member that we had to wait outside until the pub opened at noon. While understandable, considering the weather, it would have been nice to be allowed inside to sit at a table until they were ready to serve. After finally being let in, we spent ten minutes looking at the menus before being informed that they weren't serving food to the public until 2pm due to a Christmas booking. It seemed like the staff knew they wouldn't be serving food when they opened, so asking us right from the start would have saved us from waiting outside in the cold. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place, even though it looks nice from the outside.

I stopped in at this place while staying nearby and was pleasantly surprised. Greene King pubs can be hit or miss, but this one was decent with good food. It caters to locals and Everton supporters, creating a great atmosphere. The food is affordable and tasty, overall quite decent.

I absolutely adore the Black Horse. It feels like my second home. I love coming in for a peaceful pint and a meal, and it's always wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I have formed wonderful friendships with the afternoon staff. Thank you for always being so welcoming and for putting up with me, haha.

The food was really good and so were the young girls behind the bar. You can tell a good pub by how happy the staff are to serve you and have a bit of banter. My friends were visiting from Glasgow and insisted we go back again. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. The Black Horse puts other Greene King pubs to shame. Much appreciated. Scott COYB
