Great Road Kitchen - Littleton

The first time at grk. square has a beautiful facility. service was good. we ordered everything to eat together while we went to the movie after dinner, but waiter said we were on time. I come back to this . started with calamari frit, which the waiter politely checked if we had ordered before. he let us know that it was not traditional calamari, but a long finger like frites. we went ahead, it was very hard on orange pepper glaze. would not order again. for dinner I ordered braided short rib and my wife the winter pesto garnel pasta. the first question was that my wife dinner and mine came very fast and before the appetizer that arrived shortly after. so much for timing. the short nativity was so much adorned with a lime sauce so that it overwhelmed the bark. the same for the pesto pasta of my wife, which is very heavy on the sauce. only on average. and for price paid, disappointing. added that disappointing arrives before the appetizer and was not good general culinary experience.

We are here several times, but not sure we will be back. we were very disappointed this time about eating. our meals were warm, blanching and the lobster special was overtaken and dry. this is likely because these meal times had to sit under the heat lamp for some time. I don't know if it was in error or because it was Valentine's Day, but we ordered our dinners and the server literally brought them within minutes.

This was our time here, based on a great first experience, but the second time around was not the charm, very disappointing at the level of the service, especially if one of the party asked to have added mushrooms to the brunch burger, the answer was somewhat confusing. the question was whether to add grk mushrooms to a burger, the answer was that they added a lot of different types of mushrooms, but they all in portions. I get the whole portion bit....for food and cost control for the restaurant, just add some mushrooms would have been a simple fixation and not disappointed a customer who is unfortunately based on this lack of response and not the ability to be flexible, probably not be back.

We've eaten here quite a number of times over the years. Service has gone down-hill a bit. Two things that really bothered us Saturday night We each ordered a glass a wine, the waitress came back and explained that they were out of that wine. That happens, I get it. We ordered a different glass and she came back and explained that they were out of THAT wine, too. C'mon why have it on your menu if you don't have it in stock? At least have the server mention what you are out of when handing out the wine/drink menu. Service was too quick. Even despite the wine debacle and despite the fact that we ordered appetizer and dessert (in addition to entrees), we were in and out within minutes. Barely even made sense to have a babysitter!

The restaurant was fun, great bar seating, big open dining room the food was good but not exceptional for the value. The prices of the menu are very high and seemed overpriced.
