Chen’s Kitchen - Littleton

It's quite uncommon to find Taiwanese food in Colorado, so I was thrilled to visit Chen's Kitchen. The food was enjoyable, particularly the buns, which stood out. The noodle soups were flavorful and well-balanced. My only criticism would be that the portion sizes were a bit small. However, I really appreciated the nostalgic atmosphere of a family-run restaurant.

This family-owned Taiwanese cafe is a little treasure in Colorado. I’ve visited a few times and have always left feeling satisfied. The flavors of Taiwanese cuisine can be easily misunderstood; they are more subtle, which might lead those accustomed to stronger Chinese flavors to perceive Taiwanese food as less appealing. However, I believe this subtlety allows for personal seasoning, as flavor is quite subjective. The prices and portions here are also very reasonable. Even though I live further away, I make an effort to stop by whenever I’m in the area.

My first experience with Taiwanese cuisine was great! I'm not exactly sure what authentic flavors are supposed to taste like, but I found the braised pork bento absolutely delicious, and the glazed pork belly bao was equally tasty. I wanted to try some Taiwanese beer, but unfortunately, it wasn't available, so I went with the lime tea instead. The location is clean, and the staff is very friendly. It seems like this restaurant has a loyal customer base!

I couldn't be more thrilled to have discovered this incredible Taiwanese restaurant. The staff is wonderful, and the food is fantastic. It really reminds me of my hometown, and honestly, it's far superior to any other Asian restaurant I've tried. Everything is incredibly fresh and authentic, and I absolutely love it! I’m thrilled to have this Taiwanese family restaurant in town! My experience with Taiwanese cuisine has been limited to popcorn chicken and boba, so I was excited to try more. The salt and pepper fried chicken was the best I’ve ever had and was a great value for the price. We also ordered the beef noodle soup and a braised pork bento box. By the end of the meal, my husband, our toddler, and I were all completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly, and our food arrived quickly and fresh. I will definitely be returning to this place often!
