Bidrage med feedbackWow. What a great experience. The steaks are wonderful and the sides aren't to be missed. It's expensive but it has to be with the quality of ingredients they use.
Got to the restaurant at 5:30 via reservation and waited 20 minutes to be seated, even though place was virtually empty. The flavor and overall quality of the food seemed good but the portions were small...I mean miniscule! If you went in hungry, guaranteed you would be looking for more food within the hour! No one in our party....we have a group that goes out to eat each week....has suggested we return. That's a telling comment!
For Valentine's Day, there was a special fixed-price menu for a full-course meal, including dessert. Each woman was given a long-stem rose and a small glass of champagne, which was a nice touch. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer, but they arrived cool to cold, so we had to send them back to be warmed up. My wife opted for a salad, while I chose the onion soup. Unfortunately, the salad was subpar, although the onion soup was quite good. For the main course, I ordered the sea bass, and my wife chose the filet. When the sea bass was served, there was a faint fishy smell, and I could only bring myself to eat half of the medium-sized portion. The filet was incredibly tender, easily cut with a fork, but it lacked any flavor beyond an unremarkable broiled meat taste. We were both disappointed with the dessert as well; it failed to impress. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water and two glasses of red wine with our meal. The total bill came to $380, which included tax and a mandatory twenty percent tip. Unfortunately, the service was lackluster at best, and the waits between courses were excessively long. My wife and I left feeling quite disheartened; we realized that we had made a poor choice given the high price and substandard quality of the food. We learned that cost does not necessarily correlate with quality. This will be our last visit to Red’s, and we won't be recommending it to friends or business acquaintances. Sorry, Red, but it just wasn’t worth it.
I previously mentioned the small portion sizes in my review. However, my son decided to host his wedding reception at Red's, and what a difference it made! The food was fantastic, the portions were generous, and the service was excellent! I felt well taken care of this time. I'm really glad he chose Red's for the celebration!
I visited this restaurant for Valentine's Day, making it my second time there. Although we arrived five minutes late, we were warmly greeted by our last name and seated right away. A lovely touch was the rose for my girlfriend, and there was a live band playing nice Valentine's Day music at a pleasant volume. The food was outstanding; the steak was incredibly flavorful, rivaling that of Ruth's Chris or even Morton's. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it's a lovely place overall.
