Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is pure trash, in my opinion. I will surely not comeback for a second try. They are obviously taking profit from the fact that it's a touristy street in a mega-tourist city. Otherwise, I bet my desert they'd be dead. I ordered Moamba, a dish that I've eaten often in Lisbon. It's a delicious delicacy from Cabo Verde, when it's well made. The only taste that I could feel in the dish that I was brought was the stale water in which the whole thing was cooked. I was hungry and in a hurry. I managed to clean the sauce away from the chicken and decided I would take half of the dish home, as the amount was generous and I lost half my apetite after the first bite of that gross sauce. I asked for a take-away box. It took 5 minutes for them to bring it. Why? Because they decided I should use a second hand box and it took them 5 minutes to clean it, miserably. The box was still disgustingly greasy from someone else's dish, and it had tons of leftovers stuck in its slits. I cleaned the box myself and poured half the food in there. Then I was told that I had to pay 1,5€ for that filthy second-hand take-away box. I refused and they acted like I was the one causing problems. Actually everything was kind of filthy, glasses, forks, floor, etc...
A typical Portuguese restaurant where you can eat and, if you are lucky, listen good music. We like it at all!
Atmosphere is very basic but the Capo Verde food is good. A small family business guarantees warm and friendly service. We also liked the music performed by owners (guitar singing). Recommended for those who want to have an authentic local experience.
We were brought here by a friend who lives in Lisbon otherwise we would never have found the place. It is in the heart of Alfama, through the many little twisting streets. Just a few tables, we had the chicken with peanut sauce, chicken with coconut sauce, both came with white rice, our friend had a dish made with chick peas, beans and meat, everything was very good. There was a guitar player who sang a few songs, and the owner also sang for us, it was a very enjoyable meal.
On the way up to the castle we walked by this restaurant and decided that we would go back on the way down. What a great spot. You enter thru small gallery like , owned by local artist and downs the stairs you go to this lovely two floors restaurant. It was a sunny day and of course most of the tables by the window were busy but we were lick and had a lovely table with a view . Definitely try the Sangria here. And also the special of the day , which is most of the times freshly caught fish! Lovely setting and presentation. What we enjoyed as well were the placemats , they were all different styles of tiles. Service was great as well.
