Ma Che Pizza - Lisboa

We have been going to this restaurant for several years, maybe more than 25 years, in fact since the time when it was called La pizza . The food is always very good, both the pasta and the pizza. Nevertheless, in all of these years, the staff has kept a very closed-face attitude, never friendly, and the kids normally resist on going there because they claim about the unfriendlyness of the staff. Something to improve, definitely, as the food is great, and the relation between quality and price is fair enough.

We found this restaurant almost hidden in a side street, not far from Carcavelos railway station. We visited on Friday 17th April, and found a small queue waiting for a tables, (mostly local). the restaurant was packed inside, although we waited for approximately 15 minutes, the wait was certainly worth it. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, efficient and friendly, although our waiter only spoke a little English. A typical Italian Bisto interior. Some lovely typical Italian/Portuguese appetizers, steak cooked to perfection, local fish in a cream sauce excellent, portions really large, we couldnt even manage deserts. This is certainly worth a visit (I see on the listings that this must be a sister restaurant of the branch in Lisbon). A great evening if your hungry and need an excellent meal give this a try. I used to go there as a kid and decided to give it a try and see if it was still open after 20 years when I visited Carcavelos again! I was thrilled to see 1st that the quality, taste and service have not only remained the same but also have kept that family touch that made 'Ma Che Pizza ' the place to be in Carcavelos! The Italian cuisine its simply wonderful, same with the desserts. The garden is small but makes it a wonderful place to cool down on hot summer evenings. I will make sure every time I return to Portugal I will be visiting it again!

Great italian food, nice place, very quiet. The price is algo very god. I recomend. Nice for friends, couples or family.

This restaurant is conveniently located near Carcavelos railway station and has been in the market for almost 30 years. Their recipies remain the same, portions are relatively small compared to present offers, so they should give more food to customers whilst trying to maintain prices. The place is very discrete and appealing, with a varanda to eat outside if the weather allows.
