Caprilia 2 - Lisboa

We came across this little restaurant on a very hot day in Lisbon. Tucked below street level, it was a welcome, clean, cool respite with its typical blue tiles around the dining room. Tables had blue white tablecloths. Clientele seemed mainly locals. Service was swift. We shared prawns in garlic a salad of serrano ham with asparagus. Both were generous portions tasty. Drinks were cheap! I have posted our bill.

This is a lovely little restaurant off the main routes in Lisbon. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive take a phrase book to help). The food is good tasty local Portuguese cuisine. Well worth a visit.

Clearly the restaurant was populated with as many Portuguese as tourists, which is a great sign. The food was lovely and the service great. Two courses, wine and water for two 37€. Can recommend Espetada musta de peixe.

We stayed only a stone 's throw away from this restaurant in Vila Nova guesthouse on the same street were recommended it by the owner of the guesthouse as a place where locals eat. We tried to get into it on our first night in Lisbon but they were full it was after 9pm. We ate here on a Monday night really enjoyed our meal. The menu was only in Portuguese inside it was mainly full of locals with the odd tourist thrown into the mix. We had fish soup (2.50) veg soup (1.80) with bread (40 cent) for starters, they were good. My other half had 'bife de la casa ' with fried potatoes (9.75) I had dourada grelhada (fried white fish for 10.50), both very tasty decent portions. For dessert, I had the recommended chocolate mousse (2.95) the other half had strawberry cheesecake (2.95), both were lovely. We shared a litre of house red wine for (7.50). Service was relaxed. We both enjoyed our meal felt it was very good value for what we got. We plan to go back for a 2nd visit before we return home!!

Visited this restaurant when staying nearby it in Lisbon. Found the staff polite and friendly with good English. Food is traditional, good value and was tasty. Servings are large! I had the steak of the day which was a very generous portion. Overall a good experience and would recommend!
