We had a reservation well in advance as it was a celebration night. We arrived and it was as if we didn't have a reservation, as other walk up guests were seated before us. The ambiance was not engaging. The table was broken, and the placement was inconvenient in the busiest part of the restaurant. I had one of the signature drinks, that was just a pre made mix with some rum. The food was ok... But I could have a better experience in Hy vee. This was not the first time we had dinner in this location, but it was significantly different to our other experiences there.

My family and I definitely had an odd experience here. While they didn't have any tables open for 6 of us, they did offer us the party room, but soon after accepting it we realized it was a bit of a crowded area and seemed more like a storage closet than anything. However, the staff wad very kind and accommodating when we asked if we could move somewhere else. I'm sure most might have been upset upon finding out the wait would be longer than it already had been due to a bad batch of rice, but we made the best of it while chatting amongst ourselves. We were given free fried dumplings and crab Rangoons to make up for the wait time. These were fresh and delicious. The sushi came out great, there was definitely some confusion as some members of my family forgot what they ordered but we made it through! What I presume to be either the owner or the manager came up to our table after we finished eating and gave us a $25 gift card for the wait, and apologized to us about it. She was super sweet! When our family goes out, usually anything that can go wrong will go wrong. So it was nice that the staff was so patient and accommodating when these things happened.
