Saffron Euro Asian Take-out - Limavady

I was extremely disappointed with the lack of food hygiene practices at this restaurant. The food is stored in a room behind the shop floor and not prepared in front of you. The chicken was undercooked and had large pieces of fat and skin, possibly microwaved. The doner meat was pre-cut and dry and burnt. The server used his bare hands, which he had coughed into, to add cheese to my mixed kebab, which was a major turn-off for me. Several men were seen handling food without hair nets or gloves, and one even had dirt on his clothes and shoes. When I got home, I found that most of the food was undercooked and inedible, so I had to throw it away. I used to eat here frequently, but the standards have clearly dropped, and the staff are rude and dismissive. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone.

I would advise against dining here if you have any food allergies. I called tonight to place an order, but as soon as I mentioned that I have a nut allergy, they abruptly ended the conversation and refused to serve me. It's disappointing that despite the dish I wanted not containing nuts, they were unwilling to accommodate my allergy. This behavior is not typical of Indian restaurants known for their excellent service, and it's clear this establishment lacks appropriate standards.

Best and authentic Indian food in the surrounding area, prices are very reasonable as well compare to the others. Definitely great value for money. If you are visiting Derry/Londonderry, Coleraine, Dungivern, Portrush, Portstewart, Castlerock area, I would highly recommend Saffron Limavady. If you like Indian food or just even wanted to try it, they will cater it according to your needs. Very polite and friendly staff, specially Sushil and George(the Chef).
