Bidrage med feedbackNice location downtown and a decent boutique hotel. The rooms are stylish and beds are comfortable. There is a free breakfast at the adjacent restaurant, although it's pretty basic (just little pastries and coffee). A lot of the rooms have open views on the street and it's definitely designed to be a bit artsy, even risque. The shower setup in the rooms is definitely a bit eclectic and interesting. I'd recommend this hotel, especially with its walking distance proximity to a view lookout points of Mont Royal.
Location, location, location! Boutique hotel with amazing staff. Was able to walk easily until late at night for shopping and meals and always felt safe. Room was beautiful. Had no problems w noise or lights. This is not a chain hotel so check amenities if looking for certain perks like pool. Didn't drive so no parking advice. Taxi to airport at 3:30 am arranged by front desk went smoothly.
I had a terrible experience with one of the Hôtel associates named Alex/ Maxemelean (tall, white, bald man) who sits at the front desk on Tuesdays. He was extremely rude and doesn't know how to treat the customers. There was no microwave in the room at the hotel. Every hotel in the world including USA and Canada I have ever lived in make sure to provide or let me use a microwave at the reception or back room or restaurant. Other colleagues of Max were very nice and helpful with everything. But this person changed my opinion about the hotel staff completely. He not only refused for me to use the microwave in the common room, refused to do it for me, and asked me to walk outside in -16 degrees centigrade temperature to a next door restaurant which was not even affiliated with the hotel to heat my food order. So, basically he think a restaurant I didn't eat in or stay with would be happy to help, but the hotel I was staying in for the last three days was not willing to let me use their microwave at the back of the front desk. This has never happened to me in any other hotel ever in life.
I picked this hotel at random and to my surprise it was amazing. It's conveniently located near the Peel Metro station and a short walk to Parc du Mont-Royal. The hotel itself is beautiful, small and above all unique. With its artistic flair and style it made me feel like I couldn't possibly choose another place to stay when I visit Montréal again. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Never had any issues and my stay overall was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that visits Montréal. Hotel Chez Swann, thank you for your hospitality.
A fun, quirky hotel with nice rooms at reasonable prices in a good location. But the best part was the wonderful staff. I had a slowly unfolding medical issue come up that left me in serious pain and considerable distress. Over two days four different staff members spent a lot of extra time helping me directly as well as in navigating a foreign medical system. They could not have been more kind and patient in doing so. Great people make for a great stay. Very highly recommended.
