Bidrage med feedbackLovely winery, with an astonishing view! The owner James is really helpful and tells you every little detail about the wines with great passion. I would highly recommend taking your time sitting on the balcony while tasting some of the wines, interesting variety they have over here. Be sure to have a good look around too, you'll see some beautiful art hanging on the walls. If you have time to hang around for a bit, wait for the sunset. I'll definitely visit the winery again soon!Wines to go for: the Zinfandel (from Croatia!) and the Barbera.
Last stop of the day on a wine tour and staff were very attentive and explained their lovely wines. Also purchased some verjuice and there was honey and fig paste available.
We spent an hour or so at Cargo Road, tasting wines and learning from James, and enjoying a quick bite of lunch, which was exactly what we needed on a day of cellar door visits - no need to traipse back into Orange in search of provisions. James' wines are outstanding - particularly the Zinfandel and Barbera. Don't be put off by the idea that the Barbera is on the reserve/tasting fee list! Well worth it.
A slightly different wine experience.Stopped in here for lunch and a wine taste, no menu, this is what we have available. Given a glass and seated at lunch table, wine maker came and sat with us pouring glasses and telling us about the wine, until the lunch arrived. Was quite pleasant and informative.Lunch was OK, partner thought her ravioli was too small a serve and still not sure how much it cost. :)
The wine was quite good, but pricy. The food was ok (a bit plain), but small serves and not a lot of choices. The setting quite casual. We liked that the tasting was done at the table while we had lunch.
