Bidrage med feedbackWhen the hostess finally arrived, she was very nice and took my name and number, so I decided to sit at the bar instead after another 10 minutes of waiting. The bar was the only area of the restaurant that seemed to be functioning smoothly. I ordered a Caesar salad and lasagna, but it took about 20 minutes for my food to arrive, and the salad came out 5 minutes after the lasagna. Unfortunately, the lasagna was cold in the center, although it did taste good. The salad was quite dry as it had very little dressing. The bartender was clearly overwhelmed, but he did his best to salvage the experience. Given the many other dining options in the area, I would strongly recommend skipping Old Chicago.
The service was good, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I usually hesitate to give a restaurant a low rating, but when avocados are featured in the name of a dish, you expect them to be fresh and appealing. The avocados on my salad were brown, which was quite disappointing. I tried to salvage the salad by removing as many bad pieces as I could and placing them on a side plate. I managed to eat about half of the salad because I was quite hungry, but I could not finish it—not due to portion size, but simply because it was unappetizing. I don't like to voice complaints, but the server did not inquire about my uneaten food, even as I began eating my husband’s pizza, which was mostly just bread. The boneless wings were tiny nuggets, and the celery served with them was curled, limp, and yellow. I’m giving this place just two stars, and the only redeeming quality was the friendly and attentive service.
Old Chicago used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but our last two experiences have left us unimpressed with both the food and the service. Today, I ordered takeout and requested a large build-your-own pizza (I found out the Hawaiian option is no longer available), along with one medium pepperoni and one medium cheese. When the staff brought it out, I was shocked to see that the total was $63. I'm sorry, but charging $29 for a large pizza is outrageous. I wish I had opened the boxes before leaving, but I was in a rush to pick my son up from camp. We live 30 minutes from the restaurant, so I was really disappointed when I finally opened the pizzas. They were burnt—both the cheese and the crust—there was hardly any cheese on them, and they weren't even cut into proper slices. If I had been dining in, I would have asked for them to make a new one. Overall, I am very disappointed!
The atmosphere was pretty chill and quiet (I was there at 2pm) The food was actually pretty good! The Mac n cheese was great! As was the pizza! But it felt like we waited forever for it to arrive was my only complaint. Plenty of drink selections too!
Great service at the bar. pizza was very good and the salat the woman was of best quality. have they been coming back?
