Just a small joint just off the road, with drive up ordering, counter service, and just enough tables and booths, but the important thing is what shines! The BBQ! I grabbed an open spot at the counter and was quickly waited on by a friendly waitress. I got a BBW sandwich with slaw, fries, and a tea. I think just about as quickly as I could spit that order out of my mouth I feel like my order was up and placed on the counter for me. The BBQ was great! It had a good texture (something I find lacking in most western style BBQ joints) and a bit of smokey flavor to go with the tangy sauce. Slaw is something that, to me, will never really make the BBQ, but can definitely bring it down a notch or two. That is not an issue at Lexington Style Trimmings, the slaw was crisp, fresh, and had just enough flavor to go well alongside the BBQ! The fries wee good, but nothing too special. Lexington Style Trimmings is an under the radar spot that should definitely be on more peoples BBQ tours through the area!
Slow service during the after lunch hour. Stopped in on my lunch break. BBQ is always good; fries and tea was great. Not a big fan of dining in. If you 're not a regular, then, I 'll be with you in a minute, (while I talk with the old folk for a long minute. kinda deal. Take out is the way we usually order. Easier to run in and out
Yummy yummy in my tummy! I was fortunate enough to spot the Yelp reviews of this place while my colleague and I were driving from Durham to Charlotte. I had never tried NC style BBQ in its natural habitat so why not? We stopped by during the late lunch hour and it was bumpin! We were told to sit wherever we liked and there were a decent amount of available tables in the back room. Our waitress Bridget (spelling? showed up and could tell we were not from the area. She was so nice and told us about the menu.... When I say she told us about the menu I mean that she took us on a sampler tasting of the menu! She sure knows how to make a girl feel welcome! She brought us an assortment of items to try: two different slaws (white aka Yankee style and red , chopped meat, sweet tea and.... CHEERWINE! Okay fine, if you are from the south and drink Cheerwine then it is no big deal to you, but for a couple of Cali girls it was life changing. We ordered a meat plate and a sandwich and all of the food was delicious and made me understand why people rave about southern food. Bridget made me a chopped meat sandwich on a roll which is what I totally wanted but was not on the menu....how awesome is that? How have I not yet talked about the hush puppies?!?! I have had them a couple times in Georgia but they were greasy so I was hesitant to try them again..... So happy Bridget recommended them because they were super delicious! Crispy and not greasy- my kind of yumminess! I can 't wait to get back to this fabulous restaurant and all the yumminess it provides.... Thank you for an amazing meal and some fantastic Southern hospitality!
Gone does not exist, wanted bbq got nothing just an empty building stay with for lease sign
Not fancy but the food is really good. My friend and I got pulled pork sandwiches and shared onion rings. Both were excellent! Staff is super nice and helpful!
