Bidrage med feedbackNice place that looks like a dive on the potside. I ordered a family portion to go. Did not disappoint. Reasonable price. I had to ask for napkins, plates a forks or we wouldn't have gotten them. Potato salad was really good. Generous portions.
I enjoyed Old House. It was authentic TX BBQ with good flavor. I had the 2 meat sandwich special w/2 sides. I also added 3 pork ribs and had green beans and Caesar salad for my 2 sides. My favorite meats were the 1) pork ribs followed by the 2)jalapeno sausage. The 2 meats I selected for my sandwich were brisket and jalapeno sausage. The brisket was just OK. Not muchof a bark or smoke/seasoning flavor as I prefer for a craft BBQ brisket. It seems they maybe rushed the cook a bit and didn 'tfollow the tried and true low slow 225 method? Or give it much rub? But it was still legit and worth checking out! Theyhad 3 different kinds of sauce to try if you wanted. Regular, spicy and smoky. I 'm not a huge sauce guy but I still like tocheck it all out. They were good but honestly, I could not taste much difference between them. They also had a nice condimentstation with all of the typical accoutrements which is good! I always like to have some white onions with my Q and a fewjalapenos and pickles are always nice too! As for the sides, the green beans were good but just very standard canned and heatedvariety. The Cesar salad was excellent!! It had what tasted like a home-made dressing and was surprisingly good for a BBQjoint! They also had beef ribs on the day I went but I did not try any. The counter guy told me they didn 't always have themso maybe should have given those a try? There 's always Next time! I 'll be back to check them out again!
This place has the potential to be good, but it needs significant improvement to get there. For those who know how to smoke meats or have realistic expectations for BBQ, you will likely be disappointed. If you've never had truly great BBQ, there’s a chance you won't notice the difference. Dickey's is about the same level as this place, while Rudy's is definitely better. You’re always better off at real BBQ joints. I hope the owners find a way to improve their BBQ skills!
The cheesy potatoes were just RICO cheese poured over cubed potatoes, topped with some chives and bacon. Everything was cold, and the BBQ was simply terrible. I usually don’t write reviews unless I’ve had a truly awful experience, but I feel compelled to share this one. Eating out is expensive, and during a recession, businesses should appreciate that anyone can still afford to dine out. I will not be returning, and I'll be recommending everyone in Lewisville to try Big Jack's on Main St. instead—at least they are friendly, the food is good, and they’re much more affordable. Proceed here at your own risk!
My son took me out for lunch, and I knew I was in for a treat because this kid can eat! Old House BBQ definitely didn't disappoint. The exterior of the restaurant may not look like much, but after all, it's a BBQ joint, not the Ritz, so that’s perfectly fine. The interior was well-maintained, and the menu had an excellent selection. I ordered the three-meat plate while my son opted for the loaded baked potato. We were both completely stuffed by the end of our meal! The food was truly delicious and reasonably priced. Let’s just say I will be back for more!
