Diella's - Lewes

I'm not quite sure if I went to another restaurant for all the good reviews, but I couldn't describe the experience as something other than terrible when we visited last week! The food was ok, quite bland and inspiring, and the staff was very welcoming....The terrible element is the patronage of the owner and simply rude attitude besides, terrible inappropriate jokes. Maybe it's me that is clearly lacking in any sense of humor, but I was shocked that welcoming could be so bad and so terrible inappropriate. I haven't experienced anything bad since the 1980s with regard to how small and unwilling I feel. Perhaps this is one of the cucumbers that people love the restaurant, but it is certainly not for me!

Thought we had a pizza today and how diella's good reviews thought it was worth a try. as a certain age when we arrived, we noticed others in the same classification and thought it looked like a lunch club for renters. far away from. as it turned out and the average age of the diners fell quickly. what made the time so much better than just the good food was the owner who chatted with each and took orders / after need. customers felt that they were important and were special. What about eating? the best olives for a long time, well loaded delicious pizzas, great selection of puddings and beveridges ice cream especially pleasant. the owner told us he didn't look at tripadvisor. obviously he knew what was important to others without criticism/bouquets.

Nice restaurant with friendly and welcoming service, an extensive menu with something for all and delicious food. The seafood risotto was just perfect... and the wonderful twist on Tiramisu was just heavenly!

We went to diellas birthday dinner today, a day too late when my birthday was yesterday. after having been many paintings in italia and the experience of authentic food there I would say that this is very close. the service was great and the coffee. was the best I had for a long time. the decor is a little dated, but I like it. all at a great place to eat.

Only our second visit to Diella's and once again another great meal. Lovely food from an extensive menu plus specials and good wine. All this in a very relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff, what more do you want? Diella's makes a welcome change of...scenery from our Eastbourne restaurants and we look forward to our next visit.
