Restaurant Balmhorn - Leukerbad

Was with two small kids and know the place from three years ago. Nothing to do, daring wonderful kitchen, great food michelin star level. Had the tuna tartar, with this citric lemonish touch and sweet onions a grand start, the guacamole as a tromp oeil for wasabi, with humus below a great mis. The main the citron ravioli and the steak perfectly cooked, all with a great shyraz from the region, excellent cheeseplatter and the heidelbeer eiscreme for the better half a great dinner in a spectacular surrounding. Whishing the young couple operating this place great success, well deserved and a necessary step of bringing Leukerbad back to live! Well done, 4 stars, seldom award it!

Wonderful food, excellent service, what else does one need! Cozy small restaurant,with some tables on the terrace. A real gem.

The restaurant is up a tiny unpretentious street so you would never expect to experience the most sublime lunch that any of us had eaten in a long time. A clever menu arrangement allowing you to taste everything on the menu or just choose what you want and the price and portions are adapted accordingly. There were four of us, three of us choosing Apple and Speck salad with a glorious dressing of Honey and Rosemary and the other choice being the carrot and ginger soup which was off the Richter scale. So delicate. In retrospect we made a mistake as we should have chosen everything on the menu. Roger, the chef, came and spoke to us. Absolutely charming and passionate. He was born and bred in the house which was converted into a restaurant by his mother from whom he took over and changed the restaurant from fondue and raclette to cutting edge cuisine. We were served by Carlos who made sure we had everything we needed and was happy to talk to us about the wine list . . all local wines and a superb list. I could go on but I will leave you with thoughts of the Prosecco and homemade ginger cordial which was offered to us to start and set the scene for what we were about to receive. Brilliant

Absolutely elegant, surprising, delightful. Fantastic dish design, excellent choice of wine. Astonished and satisfied. Came back one more time the same week. Price is long forgotten while the great experience remains.

Excellent quality of food, great deserts -the lamp fillet was amazing. Very friendly service -well done!
