Bidrage med feedbackLet’s start with the only positive thing about this place: the view. Both the terrace and the shaded place are nice spots for a drink, with full view over the rolling hills. But the rest leaves a lot to be desired. At the same time as we sit down the young waitress from the owners family decides to start cleaning the floor and sweep up plastic bottles, napkins and leftover bread, which she leaves in a pile next to our table for a while, before deciding to take it away. When asked about wine, she insists there’s only one sort. When I look around I find a number of bottles on display of better quality. She accepts to sell me one. The food is nothing you couldn’t easier fix better yourself. Bread from the day before. Supermarket gazpacho with some chopped vegetables on the side. Local gazpacho manchego with mashed biscuits inside. Chuletas chops are presented as baby lamb cordero, even though it’s obvious what we get is a huge pork chop, half grilled. Pork medallions solomillo are soaked in salt. Have a beer instead and then proceed to el Chiringuito mirador, next door, for simple but ok food, better view and friendlier girls.
If the quality of the food could match its superb views and attractive dining room adorned with water colours of local artists, the establishment would be the best in town. Unfortunately it doesn 't. The Buñuelos cod croquettes were cold, the magret duck livers were just ok, the meat croquettes were good but the cabrito was quite enjoyable. Finally the inexpensive wine Pino Poncel from Jumilla was surprisingly good. The bill came to 29.50 euros. Service was excellent as we were the first there for the evening meal.
