Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant come coffee shop takes up the top bit of an old church. The Church is in the grounds of the former psychiatric hospital in Letterkenny. If you visit it be advised that you should park outside rather than above the church. There is restricted and metered parking up there as St Conals is still a medical facility. Inside you will find that some of the trappings of its former role still there. A holy water font and church windows. The service is quick, friendly and the food is very tasty. if you are having coffee ask for an American I!Unless you want a Lattea! It used to only open Monday to Friday, but is open on Saturdays for now.
Today, I had an amazing lunch at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly. The aroma of freshly baked goods from the bakery was delightful. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit.
This coffee shop, located in the former church of St Conall's psychiatric hospital, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with the delightful scent of baking as you walk in. The staff are welcoming and the food is delicious. They offer gluten-free options and can accommodate functions of any size. It's a great place to enjoy a nice walk in the park followed by coffee. Highly recommended.
This building used to be know as the Vestry , as it was an old church in the hospital grounds. Now with most of the former psychiatric patients gone and living in community settings outside the hospital the church became a coffee shop and restaurant. It still has some of the trappings of its former life. Next door is a gym area or hall for various activities including slimming world or similar. I wondered about the wisdom of that, beside all the delicious food and all. The food is only divine as it should be in a church, what lovely smells greet you on entering the coffee shop. You are met by angels who work there and smile all the time. If you are having coffee, ask for an Americano otherwise you will get perky , coffee which is not to my liking. They do a lovely Irish Breakfast here and it is very filling. You can order food to go as well and they cater for functions outside of the restaurant as well. All the food is cooked or baked in-house so you know it is fresh. When you finish you can enjoy a nice walk in the park next door. Parking is metered but not too expensive and there is further parking in the front of the park entrance.
The restaurant serves delicious home-cooked meals with a touch of spice and a nod to healthy eating. The service is excellent, very friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant in a charming old building with free wifi.
