Bidrage med feedbackThis is my second review in 4 years. We do Chinese food because of its high salt, fat and sugar content not to habit, but a desire is a desire. In addition, we found that the cook was in the Regent before the owner retired. The Regent had award-winning dishes and I feel that it was superior to any of the other Chinese restaurants in the area. The restaurant is very clean and the staff young and very happy and helpful. I wanted to say this time that I really think the buffet selections are surprisingly good after I had ordered a few times in recent years. A small tip: If you order five dishes or more for taking for two or three, the sum with tip could be $85 and you have leftovers for 3 days that are not much of a pleasure. Or, you could visit the buffet with two quite large aluminum exhaust plates for about half the price and have a wider choice with enough leftovers for the next day, especially if you have a rice cooker at home and do not use space on the plate for it. I would then recommend ginger pork, pork chops, beef and broccoli, salt and chili shrimp, dry ribs (done very nice), chicken balls (not oily or too teig) and perfect cantons with pineapple sauce. I think they have a separate smaller dish for dessert, so I would suggest the fresh fruit, sliced cake, even Jello. Although lunch prices are cheaper, I would go straight at 4:00 and get their fresh food and experience a less crowded ambience. Craving satisfied, without residual burning...
We have met in this restaurant in the past, and while we do not feel that we have been properly taken up, like pro furnished in the room, we have always enjoyed the food there. Everything changed on Thursday night. We were generally agreed that the quality of the food really slipped, and it was obvious that most of what we had from the buffet was left by the past and was kept warm far beyond that. Our group had 23 members in attendance and we were in many locations about our 14-year-old affiliation, so we know good food when we see it. That was definitely a bad performance for Imperial China. Although our bill came too far beyond the $65 limit for a discount - we were not offered a discount on our tab. I'm sure a return visit from our group will be a long way down.
Ordered for collection! About half an hour ahead, Saturday,5:15, it was very busy eating in and picking up, very efficient! Waited about 10 minutes, got food at home, hot, fresh and very tasty!!! In any case, they also recommend a buffet that looked fantastic!
Not the best buffet Chinese we have, but also not bad. They had a pig shell and shrimp shell that were excellent. The vegetable dish was ready and not very good, which was disappointing. The chicken balls were so finished and... dried, you couldn't cut it with a knife, let alone eating it. Because of the 2 excellent dishes, we would give this place another attempt.
I was excited to try this restaurant as the reviews were so good. Stood in line on my birthday, to eventually get seated at a tiny two person table, tucked in a corner. There were so many other tables there was barely walking room for...customers and staff. I was so disappointed by the buffet, I wanted to cry. We had already ordered drinks and I felt bad to just leave.. Chow mein is my favourite, and their “chow mein” was far from tasty or appealing. They use the Farkay noodles you get at Walmart, and fry them up with some cabbage. No spices, no grease, no flavour. I dished up what I could find that looked edible, which was some spring rolls. Paid full buffet price for a snack. Will never recommend, and will never be back. No clue why people rave about this place.. the reviews must be fake. Moon River, which is now the new oriental buffet is THE BEST in town. Brings me back to my childhood. This is toilet food.
