Parador De Vic-sau. El Mirador

The Parador system was set up under the Franco dictatorship to provide reasonable price accommodation. Some have gone up market, some not. Vic was nothing exceptional, room clean and tidy, well serviced. The restaurant a disappointment both an breakfast and evening meal. Slow service, thrown together pallela, waterlogged rice, virtually no seafood. Better places in and around Vic, beautiful area to tour around.

The menu here was interesting and well-priced (around 21 euros a head for set lunch (3 course) without wine, but the presentation was a little clumsy and the service showed itself up for being state-owned. However, the location is truly magnificent and it was well worth the trip out of Vic to have our lunch here. Watch out, the portions are massive, so go hungry and walk it off by visiting the nearby Monastir de Sant Pere after lunch.

We were making a return visit to Vic Sau and ate in the restaurant both nights. We were pleased to see the food was much better than on our previous trip all the Parador restaurants seem to have switched to a Marmita menu. There was plenty of choice the roast chicken cannelloni was delicious! The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfasts are also served in the dining room and again there was a lot of choice.

Ratio quality/price correct. the environment is a little simple for the capacity of the local. about the service, although all were very kind, it is observed that they should acquire more experience in the handling of the situation. order several times for all the dishes and desserts we had ordered, does not convey much organization. I don't accuse him of forgetting our second dish, as it can happen to anyone, but if you noticed that they didn't have to shoot in the deal with the client, though surely and I hope it improves during the weeks.

Coming from lleida and with aiguablava destination, we made a stop on the way to know the parador and its kitchen. taking advantage of the good time we ate on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the unbeatable sau. a remnant of peace. food, based on cold dishes, very good. The best, the service.
