Bidrage med feedbackThis is a weird little South Bay hidden Gem. It's such a difference experience suddenly rather than eating in a city or suburb it feels like you are hanging out at a country restaurant in the middle of nowhere, the middle of no where with a very big airport nearby somewhere. Food is good, but has a very home cooked vibe, for better for worse. Mostly for the better. I've been twice and it can take a LONG time to get your food, both experiences where like 2 hours, but hanging out on their porch or other dining room building is fun. So don't go if you are in a hurry, but it's a fun hangout place to sit around and talk to friends in a lovely environment. Planes over head are cool, but loud. But the whole experience from beginning to end feels special and different. And no one believes a place like this could be in Lenox.
This place is just fun! It is not at all what you expect, but it is like going to your favorite friend's house. The one with the mom that cooks the best food and you never go hungry. The food was fresh and delicious! I truly hope it survives this pandemic because it is such an amazing gem.
Love Ms.Viola, she's the delightful owner cook. I've gone down there when I get a home-sick yearning for Tex-Mex. Her meals r just as good as Her company. The soft tacos crunchy tacos w/rice beans r my fav. And of course her famous appetizer, guacamole is so tasty and her chicken soup is simply the best. Follow it up w/her southern sweet tea as my drink of choice. I haven't ventured out to the Texas side of the menu yet. Mayb next time I'm around Airport. It's def worth the drive thru that neighborhood ya'll!
Always looking for hidden gems and this little restaurant fills both boxes, it's hidden and set back off the street so it,s easy to drive by. The property looks like it started as a collection of several small homes that due to their location directly under the LAX flight path is better suited for daytime use as sleeping here might be a bit of a challenge, however I digress. The main restaurant is in the center of the group of buildings, with a small dinning room in another building and plenty of patio seating. The menu is very comprehensive without being overly complex. Staff is super friendly and attentive, prices are very reasonable food is outstanding. I had the chili verde which came with rice and beans and three small freshly made tortillas. The other member of our lunch group has two carne asada tacos with rice and beans along with a chicken enchilada. Lunch for two came in at just over $20.00 before tip. Highly recommended and we will need to visit again to try some of the other menu selections.
Place is a little odd and in a not so nice area but the food is worth giving it a try. I had the carne asada tacos and chicken enchiladas. The we're delicious. The tacos were made with handmade tortillas and so tasty. The meat was tender and not chewy. The salsa was very good also. If you can block out the jets flying right overhead every 5 minutes then give it a try. I would go back.
