The person at the counter appeared quite annoyed by my presence, hardly making eye contact or engaging in conversation. I don't expect much, but there's a reason I moved back to Missouri from the East Coast, and it's certainly not to be met with a negative attitude. The pastry I tried was decent, but in a city of this size, I can find better service and pastries, if not superior, at many other locations.

This coffee house and scratch kitchen is located very close to my home, and I've been eager to try it for a while. When I finally visited, I was a bit overwhelmed by how busy it was, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a seat. The line moved quickly, which was a relief. I ordered the cranberry walnut toast along with a smokehouse caramel latte. The toast had small bits of sea salt mixed in, which made it incredibly delicious. Plus, it wasn’t overly sweet, which I really appreciated since I’m not a fan of sweet toast.

Looking for the best coffee in Shawnee Lenexa? Look no further! This place also serves incredible bread! It's our go-to spot every week. The staff is very friendly, and their iced chai latte is fantastic! We absolutely love the goat cheese croissant and the walnut cranberry toast—definitely our favorites. You have to check it out, and they even have treats for your dogs!

I?m visiting from Chicago and this was my first time at Black Dog. My dad talked it up and they did not disappoint! Service and recommendations were on point! The gentleman behind the counter recommended the Kouign-amann pastry which is absolutely amazing. Also had the Specialty Snickers latte. Thoroughly enjoyed this place and will definitely be visiting again when I?m back in town!

They left me wanting more with service, but over all I felt like it was a bustling eatery. Loved the goat cheese bear claw. However the Americano... not so much. Guess I prefer a bolder espresso bean than what was offered at the time... although we did double the shots (quad) that was offered ????
