La Baguette - Leicester

This cafe is a great spot for lunch. The food is delicious and served hot at an affordable price. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The jacket potatoes are particularly outstanding, often selling out by late afternoon. They also offer daily specials such as pasta bake, lasagna, or hot beef sandwiches. Keep in mind that this place only accepts cash, but there is an ATM nearby for convenience.

The sandwiches and baguettes from this restaurant are delicious for takeout. The staff is fantastic, always friendly and efficient. I visit here almost every work day.

I visit this restaurant every week! I absolutely love the food here and highly recommend it. Their breakfast baguette is amazing! :P

You can get anything you like in Leicester however if you’re looking for a baguette you don’t have much choice, it’s either subway or a cold one from a Sainsbury fridge but now you have a wide choice at La Baguette. It’s also very conveniently located opposite the train station. Coffee is served too. Unfortunately they accept cash only and are closed Saturday and Sunday.

I went to La Baguette several times and whilst the baguettes were very nice, I had always been a little bit concerned about the hygeine; no hair nets/hat, no gloves, handling money then going back to handling food etc. My concerns were confirmed when eating my last baguestte as I found myself chewing a hair; half was in my mouth, the other half was dangling out of a bit of tuna! No surprise that I haven't been back, which is a shame because this could be a really lovely place with a little bit of consideration about general hygeine.
