Pappy's Schoolhouse And Tavern

While you are looking for a late night meal at a week night, your decisions are usually limited to diners and bars. Diners around this area are not open 24 hours so we have settled in Pappy's Schoolhouse. It's a small local bar. Bar foo can usually go one of two ways... frozen food that you could have picked up in the supermarket itself or delicious homemade food. This place falls squarely into the homemade category. All the food was scratched. They even smoke their own meat! As soon as I heard, I had to order a brisket sandwich. I was glad I did it! Served on a delicious role with one side of house made barbeque sauce, I was tried to go to another! It is clearly a place where everyone knows, but they also made us welcome outside the district. The waitress actually stopped a few times from our table just to chat. Our dinner took a little longer than expected due to a small mix of a new employee in the kitchen. We didn't complain because we weren't in a hurry, but they volunteered every free dessert to pick up the delay. When do you see this kind of great customer service even more?

This is a cool little place in the sticks. They had great live music (country) and a good amount of regular guests. 8 or so beer on tap and maybe 30 total in cans and bottles all really cheap, too. Very nice beer menu for such a small vein. Good selection of mixed drinks. Weekly specialties and a high-quality menu. First of all, it is a very nice bar and the food is usually bar food with some exceptions such as weekly specialties. That means the food was great and the atmosphere invites. Stop for a drink and bite quickly.

My husband and I came here on our 'near' because we didn't want to repeat and many other places where we went were super busy. The food was normal diner food, but it was good. That was more a place to hang around with friends, drink and eat bar food.

Best place I’ve been to in quite sometime. Service was great and the food was beyond quality. They put the local restaurants to shame. I got the Rueben and it was excellent.
