Bidrage med feedbackI was stunned, frankly, at the cost and lack of privacy between campsites. We stayed at the group site, and aside from a water spigot and views, it was not a nice campsite. While the rest of the sites appeared to have soft dirt, the group site is covered in gravel. Campers are literally on top of one another. The bathroom near the group campsite was dirty and I avoided it as much as possible. It was not peaceful- other campers were loud, and with the lack of greenery between sites, there's nothing to drown out the noise. I stay at State and Federal campgrounds often, so when a friend invited us on this trip at a private campground, and considering the outlandish cost $564 for 2 nights! , I figured it would actually be nice. Then, there came the treacherous walk down to the Eel River. The map makes it appear to be a short stroll with zero mention of a grade. It was crazy steep and long. The river is lovely but no credit goes the the campground for that. I slipped on the way down in good, grippy shoes. I'm annoyed at how much we spent. And karaoke night on Saturday night. I mean, why? If you're looking to be out in nature for a quiet getaway, this is not the place. Seriously. Go to a public campground instead. They are miles more maintained, clean, private, and beautiful.
Having a awesome camping trip here in our rv. They have full hook up's for your rv. Restaurant and bar on property, swimming pool, playground and more. Normally we cook our own food camping, it was a nice treat to have a restaurant here, get the Bigfoot Burger you will not be disappointed.Rooms: 5/5
Great RV Park. Large spaces. Huge Trees. I was in spot 40. When it rains it gets a bit muddy but that was the only downfall having to wipe muddy paws each time going in and out and watch out for ticks. Wi-fi worked well. The pub onsite was open for dinner only this time of year. Tried the Fish and Chips and the BBQ Bacon Burger. While I waited for the take out order I sat and had a Mai Tai the one night and played the table arcade game which is complementary. The drink though was not worth $10. The fish was not bad. Fries good. The next night while I waited I had the Peanut Butter Stout which I really enjoyed and better priced at $6. The burger was pretty good too. If I didn't have an anxiety ridden dog I would have stayed at the pub longer. They have a room with air hockey and other fun games. And a fire outside with a TV and additional seating. Neat atmosphere and nice people. Note, they add 18% gratuity to the bill automatically. They also have a moderate trail down the mountain a bit to the south Fork Eel River. It was doable but I took a few breaks on the way up. Thank goodness they have benches every so often. The bathrooms were fine, showers hot. There is a pool. Wasn't heated when I was there but was open. They have a fort for the kids. Volleyball courts and shuffle boards. There is a store at the office in front that carries various items. Though it's right off the highway it wasn't noisy. They also have cabins and rooms to rent if you don't have an RV. I would stay here again.
This place is so cozy and friendly, the people were super nice and the stay was warm and welcoming. I went to their pub to eat and the food was amazing too. It has a London vibe and it feels good.Nearby activities: There was a river trail where the water was so clean it looked blue.
Very friendly staff and I am sure it will be amazing when things from the storms are cleaned up. I had a nice private spot at the back with full hookups. I really enjoyed the walk down to the river with my dog. It’s steep and we enjoy that. The store and pub were a great addition to our stay. While the damage from storms is being cleaned up I expect some mud and fallen trees.
