Pizzeria Mediterranea - Lecce

Nice place to eat an excellent pizza out of a wood fired oven. Super friendly staff and owner.

One of the best pizza I had in Lecce and I just had the marinara which is base tomato and garlic!! I never eat the crusts but last night I had it all. Well done...excellent!

I discovered this place after a local directed me to it. The food is amazing and really really good value. The chef hand crafts each pizza and cooks them in a wood burning pizza oven. If you watch him make them you can see the pride and care he takes in his pizzas. My wife was in hospital and i would pop in and buy some for our kids on the way home from visiting her. They were the best pizzas we had on our 2 week stay in Italy and my eldest son ate at least 10 margeritas and declared these the best of all. I would also try to buy a pudding. His panna cotta were amazing. He did not usually have these as a takeaway option but he just gave me them in the glass they were set in and i returned them the next day. He should serve them not in a glass though as he did the first night so that the amazing wobble (the test of a true panna cotta) can be seen. When my wife came out of hospital we went to eat in the restaurant with some friends. My wife is gluten free so he rustled up some really really tasty grilled vegetables and some local sausage with fries. 10 of us ate here including drinks and pudding and the bill was just over £100. If there is a better value meal in Lecce then i would be amazed. The pizzas are delicious and the service and welcome are 2nd to none. Despite them not speaking much English and me not speaking any Italian we managed fine. This is not a fancy restaurant and it is not really on the tourist part of the city but it is well worth the trip for some amazing pizza and panna cotta. Simon Bentall

Buona pizza goto personale solo un po' ripida, per riprovare

Niente da dire sulla pizza e il prezzo che penso più che onesto. Purtroppo non trattano i clienti allo stesso modo. Dopo un'attesa di 8 minuti con tavoli liberi e discretamente a parte gli altri che sono stati prenotati, vengono sopra amici del (pensante) proprietario che, sottilmente, li fa sedere di fronte a noi con tutto ciò che è stato richiamato dall'altro personale per la nostra presenza. liberato un tavolo ci fa sedere e, durante la cena, noto che un posacenere viene consegnato al tavolo accanto per poter fumare quando c'è una legge di divieto di fumo anche se all'aperto. Comunque, confermo buona pizza.
