Great food! For the first time the real Kansas city BBQ and fortunately had a girlfriend who lives near this place that suggested meeting as we traveled thru. Had the rabbit and fries and it was so good! The staff was very friendly, friendly and attentive. Also 75-year anniversary to ensure and stop for a good meal!

Beef! Mixed plate, short end, crispy pommes, to STAY! Delicious brisket sandwich, big ham!! Delicious short ends! Standing BBQ, 5-8min.

The hype is real! Gates Mixed Plate is some of the best BBQ I've ever had!

I did it last night. I had the best short end in years. But I have two yummy cakes I often enjoyed. They are now smaller (many) and they have increased in price to $5.50 each! Seriously? This must be a manufacturer problem! Besides this disappointment, they still have the best Q in the city. For over 40 years loyal customer. I'm back.

Wow! Super packed on Christmas Eve! The turkey was the star of the mixed plate! So tender juicy! Some of the best smoked Turkey I’ve had in a while. Fries were hot fresh. I wasn’t crazy about the potato salad. Our cashier was nice. It may be better to call ahead to avoid the long line.
